Deep Floor Work

Deep Floor Work is a 75-minute movement class designed to help students build confidence, strength, and fluidity while exploring movement close to the ground in a safe and supportive environment.

Led by Fer Camacho, this class blends techniques from martial arts, gymnastics, ballet, and floor-based dance to develop body awareness, coordination, mobility, and control. Students will learn how to move efficiently through transitions, shifts in weight, rolls, and grounded pathways while building a deeper understanding of how the body connects to the floor.

At Head to Toe, we believe movement should feel accessible and empowering. This class is designed with an inclusive approach for beginner and intermediate students, with progressions and modifications available to support different bodies, movement backgrounds, and comfort levels.

A variety of training surfaces, including mats and softer flooring, are used throughout class to create a safer and more approachable learning environment. This allows students to first understand movement mechanics, body positioning, and proper technique before gradually progressing toward more challenging floorwork on harder surfaces.

The goal is to help students develop confidence, body awareness, and safe movement patterns so they can approach floorwork with greater ease, control, and trust in their bodies.

Recommended: Knee pads and clothing that covers the shoulders for comfort and protection during training.
