Handstands

Handstand Training is a 75-minute open-level class designed to support students at every stage of their handstand journey - from absolute beginners learning to get their feet off the ground to advanced practitioners working toward press handstands and single-arm variations.

Led by Wesley Balabam, this class offers a structured and supportive environment where every student receives personalized guidance based on their current skill level, goals, and movement background.

At Head to Toe, we believe progress looks different for every body. This class is built around an inclusive approach that prioritizes safe skill development, sustainable strength building, and long-term progress. Each student will receive an individualized lesson plan focused on foundational skills, technique refinement, endurance, and achievable progression goals. These plans are designed to provide clear direction both in class and during independent practice.

Classes begin with focused object manipulation exercises to improve concentration, coordination, and body awareness, helping students prepare mentally and physically for training. This is followed by a guided warm-up and mobility work to prepare the body for inversion training.

Students will then move into skill development and conditioning, focusing on drills, strength building, alignment, balance, and handstand technique. Dedicated practice time allows for individualized coaching, progress check-ins, and lesson plan updates to ensure each student continues moving forward safely and effectively.

Each class finishes with endurance work and a cool-down to help build resilience, recovery, and consistency over time.

Whether your goal is your first kick-up, longer holds, cleaner lines, or advanced hand balancing skills, this class offers a welcoming space to build confidence and grow your practice.

Required: A notebook or device to document your lesson plan and track progress (notebook preferred).
